HistoryOur Success Story
Orient was founded in 1981 by Mr. M. H.M. Dhahlan, who introduced architectural glass processing to Sri Lanka. In the same year, Orient Fiberglass Industries was established to manufacture fiber glass products. Further, in 1984, Orient Enterprising Company was established, and in 1998, it introduced bend-annealed glass to the Sri Lankan market. Subsequently, in 2004, Orient Gold Plus Private Limited was established with a high capacity for tempered and heat-strengthened glass processing. In 2006, they were pioneers in manufacturing tempered glass for architectural purposes and other general appliances. In 2010, they set up a heat-soaked tempered glass testing furnace to increase the high demand for supply in the Sri Lankan market. In 2014, Orient Gold Plus Projects Private Limited was incorporated. In 2017, the first PVB-laminate glass line was set up. Simultaneously, an insulated glass line with a forced convection glass tempering line was set up to fully fill the building construction gap in Sri Lanka and process and manufacture the most sophisticated performance glass. Since 2020, Orient Gold Plus Projects has been renamed ORIENT GLASS PRIVATE LIMITED. Orient Glass Group has been a trend-setter, contributing immensely to the development of Sri Lanka.
